Draw, Paint, & Create

Participants will be guided to tap into their ingenuity through art in a stimulating environment and lighthearted atmosphere. Students are taught traditional art techniques, and learn about the historical artists who were known for employing them. These lessons include concepts of color, negative space, painting techniques – all thematically bound together so students gain an understanding of how these images are brought to life and what these creations convey to an audience. Media used in this course include acrylic, pastel, and watercolor.

Cartooning & Manga: 7/15-7/19, M-F, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Digital Art

Bring your ideas to life in the form of anime and manga styled art! Participants will learn to utilize digital software to create cartoons and illustrations as manga artists. Tutorials and guidance from teachers will walk the students through the entire process from conceptualizing the art to publishing their work in digital form. This course also covers animating short scenes, without the burden of going through tedious frame-by-frame artwork! Curriculum of Animation I and II is non-repeating and non-sequential.

Animation: 7/29-8/3, M-F, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Claymation: 8/12-8/16, M-F, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
